2025: How We Gave a Darn

At Darn Tough, we don’t just give a darn — we donate, volunteer, and recycle them, too. We do it together, as a family. And we let our values lead the way. From donating socks around the world to feeding hungry Vermonters and their families, here’s how we supported those in need in 2025.
We Volunteer as Tribute

Without our community, we’re just another sock. With our community, we’re a tribe — one that’s tough and unafraid to get our paws dirty. Fueled by an insatiable desire to give back, our family racked up over 430 hours of volunteering in our local community. Be it with trash pickers on the side of the highway or hands lodged wrist-deep in the mud, every hour served is a tribute to Vermont, our home.
Fighting Food Insecurity

You might not know it, but 1 in 8 Vermonters are facing hunger — and 15,960 of them are children. Not knowing where (or when) your next meal is coming from is a burden no family should ever have to shoulder… which is why we pledged to help. In partnership with the Vermont Foodbank, we donated over 230,900 meals this year alone — adding to our lifetime total (which will be revealed in early 2026).
Nothing Goes to Waste

We spin a lot of yarn… like a lot. All that spinning results in bits of leftover, scrap yarn that can’t be used to make socks. As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, we always look for new ways to upcycle and minimize that waste.
In 2025, we were able to recycle over 111,500 pounds of fiber — the weight equivalent of a fully loaded, heavy-duty dump truck. The 55 tons of raw materials found new life as emergency blankets and other items.
The More Pairs, the Better

Everybody needs socks—that’s just a fact. And who better to provide them to those in need than us? This year alone, we were fortunate to donate over 20,500 pairs globally to people, families, and organizations in dire need.
Though it never seems like enough, our family truly goes above and beyond to provide, and 2025 was no exception. From schools and outdoor rec programs to natural disaster relief funds, every pair we contribute goes straight towards the greater good.
We’ll See You at the Altar

Our mailroom is busy, to say the least. Between warranty letters and love notes, no message ever goes unread — and that includes the 129 wedding invites we received.
Now, while we appreciate the kind gestures, our family is way too busy (and with over 400 employees, way too big) to accept every single one. That said, nothing warms our soles more than being a part of your special day. And while we can’t physically be there to celebrate all of them, we vow to send our love as you step up to say yours.
It's Been a Stellar Year

Thanks to you — our customers, communities, and partners — we made 2025 one of our best years ever. From our Brave Little State to around the world, it’s amazing what a little yarn and a lot of love can do. Thankful doesn’t even begin to describe it. But just know that we are, and that our family is better (aka tougher) with you in it.
We’ll see you in 2026.
