Staff Picks: Holiday Gifting Edition

This year, everyone’s getting socks. That’s our motto, anyway. Here in Northfield, Vermont, the Sock Capital of the World, we care deeply what our friends and loved ones put on their feet.

So, for this special holiday edition of our Staff Picks series, we decided to ask a few questions about who folks around the Mill are giving socks to this season, and the most important question: Which socks?

Debra’s Pick: Yuletide Wild Crew

Position: Finishing Operator

Debra’s looking forward to some good times with the family this holiday season. They’ll be up to their usual mischief, playing games and keeping spirits bright. So, she went with some lightweight cushioned lifestyle socks that bring a little seasonal flare.

“I would give these to my bestie because she would love the characters on there: the deer, the fox, the Christmas trees. She loves warm socks, and she’d love this color.”

Felicia’s Pick: Elsa Crew

Position: Production Specialist

Looking at so many socks every day, she’s become obsessed with the little details. Some people’s phones are full of pictures of their dogs or kids. Felicia’s phone? Full of sock pics.

“When I got a pair of socks when I was a child I was like, wow this is the worst, but now I’m gifting socks to everyone. They’re great.”

JC’s Pick: Gnome Patrol Crew

Position: Manufacturing Operator, Knitting

Some people might notice the gnomes first, but as a lifelong skier, JC gravitates toward the chairlift. The fact that they’re gnomes on patrol at this particular mountain is just a bonus.

Magic is in the air, and we’re all running around like little gnomes getting our holiday plans together. We’re making our lists. Who’s getting socks this year? (Everyone, period.)

JC says he’d give these socks to his Dad, who appreciates a fun sock. And we can’t move on before pointing out that JC said the most gnome-like thing: “We love making socks, and we put our whole heart into them every day.”

Gregory’s Pick: Steely Boot

Position: Shift Technical Trainer

Gregory’s on his way back to his hometown in Georgia for the holidays, and he’s bringing the crowd favorite Steely work sock. A go-to for its durability, colors, steel-toe specific cushioning, and multiple height options (Gregory picked Boot height).

The holidays are a special time for us because we know that everything we make here at our home in Vermont will make its way to yours. Michelle says, “This is my second home. Everyone here has great chemistry. The people putting all their energy and their effort into what they do here is what really makes it for me.”
