However, I think it would've been better for me to size down especially for socks with higher weight. The lighter weight socks were actually pretty good even in medium. Other than that, great socks! "This cowgirl will forever choose Darn Tough. This is my first pair, and my first ride wearing Women's Vanna Grizzle Boot Midweight Hiking Socks. My doctor told me in order to relieve the pain of Chilblains I need to keep my feet warm and dry, and recommended merino wool. My son said mom I am a creature of habit and I only wear Darn Tough, so I went with his recommendation. Wow! I am so impressed. They are so comfortable. "This is not the pair I want to tell you about. I haven't tried the ones pictured, or the two others. The one I'm wearing is: Women's Hiker Boot Midweight Hiking Socks - Cushion / Plum Heather / S I bought a pair of lightweight Darn Toughs when in VT. Perfect for my 6. 5 feet. So I felt comfortable loading up ahead of a trip to the Rockies. My feet however are swimming in these. Golfing in the cold last night, I had material tucking itself between my toes and sole. Why such a difference? And will they all turn out so big?"
