It All Started with the Warranty Exchange

"Fantastic product: outstanding construction, almost superfluous comfort, excellent customer service and US made. I was converted from the beginning and it's only gotten worse. Bought 2x pairs of Darn Tough hiking socks with a gift certificate in a General Store years ago; figured I'd use the warranty if needed, but wasn't sure how difficult that would be. Socks were comfortable, well cushioned and notably well constructed, so I picked up a couple more a bit later. When I finally invoked the warranty - after years of very hard wear and appreciation - I paid the postage and held my breath. Zero issue with the return, fast, efficient service and after selecting replacements on the website I saw these: no cushion, but obviously constructed the same as the more utility socks . . . did I really need day-to-day socks at this price? Given my experience up to this point, I figured I'd give it a shot: they looked good and I was confident they'd be constructed well. I would label the results either a big win, or a big issue. A win because these things are the most comfortable standard socks I've ever tried. They make wearing shoes a real pleasure without the extra cushioning putting pressure on my feet. A big issue because they prompted me to quite literally go through my sock drawer and turn many of the my old, thin, droopy now has-been socks into dust rags: they're being replaced with Darn Tough lifestyle versions that I'll gladly pay the upcharge for. My only real issue is that Darn Tough offers so few color/pattern/style options - I'd buy more if they were available. Couldn't be more pleased."
