Tough socks?

"I purchased four pairs of these “tough” socks two days ago at my local outdoors clothing store. I’m new to the Darn Tough brand. Yesterday I put them in the wash with my regular clothing and when I removed them from the wash they were fuzzy beyond repair. I have not worn these a single time and I would be embarrassed to wear them in public. The fuzzy / falling apart look leaves me baffled at paying $120 for these. I do not wear fuzzy socks.
