They're the perfect thickness where they have a nice level of cushion but don't feel too plush They are well made and obviously they have an amazing warranty. "Men's John Henry Work 5-Pack is all I expected from Darn Tough. I have other DT socks with other intended uses, i. e. hiking, lifestyle (standard crew for "dress socks") Lifestyle heavyweight shorties that are super cushiony, steelie work socks and on and on from the brand. They all meet expectations (which are very high) of the job they are intended to do. Can you say comfy, warm when needed, cool when expected, just darn awesome socks!!! The cushion is perfect for the chosen sock and job intended. I cannot speak highly enough about these Darn Tough socks. I never thought I would be so excited about a sock, but here we are. They all make your feet feel amazing!"
