Drop in on Trevor
In 2014, at 22 years old, a snowboarding accident in Vail left Trevor paralyzed from the waist down. His life changed in an instant, but he has never let the accident define him. Rather, he yells, “Let’s go!” And he goes.
Eight years later, Trevor shattered boundaries as the first adaptive athlete to hit the X Games Big Air jump — sending it well past the 80-foot sweet spot. Thanks to the High Fives Foundation, Trevor rewrites what’s possible in skiing, golf, and surfing. His grit, drive, and resilience inspire others to push harder, dream bigger, and never give up.
The High Fives Ski Sock
After Trevor’s injury, the High Fives Foundation promised to support him — especially their founder, Roy Tuscany. With their support, he discovered new passions, like sit skiing and adaptive golf. So, when Trevor and Roy asked us to design a sock that gives back to other athletes facing life-changing injuries, we were all ears.
Q&A with Trevor
All that was on my mind was… Slow my rotation down on the second flip, and I will stick the landing no matter what!
When I landed, I definitely had tears in my eyes!
High Fives has had a massive impact on my life after my injury! They got me started in sit skiing and so many other sports — they’re reason I am where I am today. I’m very grateful for everything they have done for me and so many athletes like me.
Socks became so important to me after my injury because of the lack of circulation in my feet. Living in the mountains year-round can get cold, so having the right socks makes sure my feet stay warm and safe!
“We are tough, independent, and respectful.” This Darn Tough value personally aligns with me because, no matter how many times I get knocked down, I get up and come back stronger every time.
I have had so much adversity in my life in so many different aspects. After my spinal cord injury I could have just curled up in a ball. I decided to look at life with the glass half instead of empty and take the bull by the horns!
