Great but too narrow

"The quality and lifetime warranty will always be an enormous draw to any Darn Tough sock. These would be the perfect running sock, good durability thus far and wicking properties of a wool blend, but they are too narrow and tight at the toes for my liking. I wear wide toe box shoes and prefer less constricting socks to accompany that style. Slightly looser toe area would make these an optimal sock and get it to 5 stars."

"Recently I purchased several pair of Darn Tough No Show ultra lightweight socks, and I am glad to say that the fit for my size 11D feet is comfortable enough to wear all day. "There are noticeable seams that run along the very ends of my toes, and my feet were much smellier at the end of my first shift wearing these socks. I did not have either of these issues with Smartwool’s direct competitor sock. I decided to switch from Smartwool due to the low durability of their no-cushion running socks, having gotten holes at the same location on different pairs of socks, and because their warranty is limited. I was hoping Darn Tough would provide a more durable, viable alternative. I am disappointed and will probably go back to my old socks despite the drawbacks."

Awesome Running Socks

"I bought these after reading an article about the best socks for runners. These didn't disappoint! They feel comfortable when running, breathe well, and keep my feet cool! They also stay in place and don't slide down on the back of the heel like other socks. You don't need to wash them after each use because the merino wool material resists odors and is so quick drying. (I tested it: they truly do not keep odors even after three runs in Florida heat and humidity!)"

More like darn fragile

"Unfortunately, durability has been a major issue. I’ve had multiple pairs develop holes after less than 50 miles, particularly around the toes and along the sides of the socks. For a premium running sock with Darn Tough’s reputation for durability, this is really disappointing. I would happily keep buying these if they lasted longer because the fit and performance are excellent, but having holes develop in multiple pairs in under 50 miles makes them difficult to recommend."

I am very happy with

"I am very happy with my new lightweight running socks. I really like the fit, comfort, and overall design. I have found that DT’s merino wool socks hold up extremely well over time and do not develop fabric “pills. ” I also make sure to air dry them, which I believe helps maintain their quality. For this pair, I really like the fabric's weight. I have other pairs that are much lighter, but I actually prefer this one. The design is excellent as well — keep ’em coming! Thanks for continuing to make such a great product and for maintaining the quality of your socks."

Q&A

Should I size up or down? Im a size 12 which is right on the line for sizing. I tend to wash and dry my socks so they might shrink a bit. The large range from size 10-12. A size 10 sock would be way too tight for me. Since I’m a solid size 12, should I go for the XL?
Hi Fred, Due to the snug performance fit of our socks some folks on the upper end of a size run will size up for comfort.
